Tug of war

We were able to go to Idaho for youth conference a couple of weeks ago. I actually got to go because they were going to our friends parent's house. So me and my friend weren't left out of all the fun for once. The youth arrived in Idaho at about 10:30 am and then headed to the new Rexburg Temple for baptisms. Then they did a service project and helped a lady up there with her yard. Later that night we had a fireside and by then everyone was exhausted. The next day we went to yellowstone in our matching T-shirts. The back of the shirts said steadfast and immovable. I was surprised at how many people stopped us and asked about it. I was very impressed with our youth and their answers to the questions. They are so much smarter in the gospel than I am. We then went to a play in West Yellowstone called See how they run. It was a good time. The next day we played soccer on a flooded lawn and had a tug of war over a mudpit. Everyone was covered from head to toe in mud. Then they had a little time to go play in the pond to wash off before we headed to a place called Big Judds. They have a hambuger that is a pound of meat on a huge bun with all the fixins. I think that eight of the boys finished theirs, but three of them threw up! Then everyone headed for home except our family and Cory and Marilyn's family. We went and got the kids and let them do the tug of war and play in the pond and ride on the tractor. I quess I took for granted growing up in Delta and doing all the farm things. My kids were so excited about every animal and tractor that they saw. It was such a fun time except for Travis getting dared to get on a horse that had never been ridden, no saddle, and Trav's only been on horse a couple times, but if its dare Trav will do it. Anyways he got bucked off and could hardly move the next day. Thanks to Cory and Marilyn's parents for helping out with the kids. It was so fun!

I LOVED the pictures of the kids covered in mud. It's hard to let them do those things sometimes...but once they are cleaned up it feels good to have let them really be kids! It sounds like you had a great time, I hope Trav can recover from the horse ride before ski season!! or maybe not!!
Lanell this is Katie Allred (Rogers) I found your blog and can't believe how time flies by...I was thinking about how many weird things we used to do. Your family is so cute.
That looks like fun, I can't believe all the things our city kids miss out on!!
